Most humans are familiar with the five senses, which equates to sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch (read about the 6th sense here). There is also something referred to as proprioception kin-esthesia – meaning a sense of body movements and where our body is relative to its’ surrounding environment. An example would be walking up the stairs without having to look at each step.

Additionally, there is something called synesthesia, which means perceived together. Synesthesia is a different way of perceiving one sense while utilizing another. As an example, one may see colours while playing or listening to music.

I know of someone who identifies as having aphantasia but is also able to receive images that come to flash in a flash. If you know how that works, let me know.
+ Making More Sense
Clairgustance – Clear sense of taste: Latin word gustus meaning tasting. Gusto comes from the Italian noun gusto taste, flavor, and our sense of taste. This type of sense provides individuals with the essence of what I term as “palette memories”. These essences not only consist of food or drink but may also include tangible and intangible items such as clay, trees, emotions, or thoughts.
The next sense I will serve-up, in connection to taste, is that of….
Clair Olfaction – Clear smell. This sense, also referred to as Clair essence, means being able to smell odors that do not have a known source. As an example: pipe smoke or perfume is noted but there is no one there and the area is known to be “scent free” of such aromas. This may be a sign of a spirit trying to get your attention. If interested about some of my Claire experiences just click on this link.
Unfortunately, Molly the dog gets blamed for some of the odors in our home – parosmia or a case of *phantosmia – please check the bottom of this page regarding term.
“An olfactory hallucination (phantosmia) makes you detect smells that aren’t really there in your environment.
The odors you notice in phantosmia are different from person to person and may be foul or pleasant. You may notice the smells in one or both nostrils. The phantom smell may seem to always be there or it may come and go.
Phantosmia may be caused by a head injury or upper respiratory infection. It can also be caused by aging, trauma, temporal lobe seizures, inflamed sinuses, brain tumors, certain medications and Parkinson’s disease. Phantosmia can also result from COVID-19 infection.
Talk to your health care provider if you have symptoms of phantosmia, so that they can rule out any serious underlying disorders that may be causing olfactory hallucination.
Parosmia is another smell disorder that’s similar to phantosmia. But in parosmia a smell that’s present in your environment is changed and doesn’t smell as it typically would. Parosmia can occur with damage to the olfactory system. This can happen after a severe respiratory infection” (Mayo Clinic).
Clair empathy – Clear sense of feeling. Empathy is not the same as sympathy. Psychic empaths can detect psychic information through emotions. Empaths may be able to sense someone’s emotions but the gift of Clair empathy may provide information about the source of that emotion whether it is in real time or not.
Clair tangency – Clear touch: A synonym for tangency is touch and for the word touch it is communication. A form of psychic communication/information derived from a transfer of information from an object through to the hands/skin.
